Recent news about our artists:
Charlene March continues to prosper and is doing very well physically. She participated in several mid-western shows in spring, summer and fall.
Peter Sebert/Jacob Brown is continuing to recover and prosper in Austin, Texas where he is settling in and was recently in Brown County to visit friends here.
Susan W. Showalter is feeling much better with the benefit of oxygen therapy at night. She continues her work on The Brown County Hour radio show interviewing artists and musicians and recently co-hosted her first 2 hour music and variety show live broadcast. She also opened a new gallery and studio in August.
Christopher Webb was in an auto accident in early September, was hospitalized three times and diagnosed with pneumonia. He has continued to have health issues which significantly affect his life and music making.
Pat Webb, his father, is feeling fine but had to move to a nursing home in Nashville for a few weeks while Chris was recovering. They recently moved into a new apartment near Nashville.
William Zimmerman recently underwent more surgery and, unfortunately died as a result of complications from the surgery. A memorial service to celebrate his wonderful life was held Friday, November 24, 2011 in Nashville. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.

Award Winning Painter Charlene Marsh
is a plein air oil painter who has lived in Brown County since 1987. She markets her work nationally in fine art galleries and at weekend art shows, mostly in the Midwest. Charlene has overcome several health issues including a venomous snake’s bite, a back injury from falling in the forest and chronic carbon monoxide poisoning resulting in multiple sensitivities.

Storyteller Pete Sebert as Jacob Brown
moved to Nashville in 1997 after being a pastor in Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana. "Jacob Brown" began to develop when Pete immersed himself in local history then dressed in character, started spinning stories for locals and tourists and finally for the Brown County Historical Society. Jacob Brown, "an ambassador from another time, tells and sings of days gone by and still around the Brown County hills and hollows" and other parts "located on the edge of the village forest, in the Hoosier state of mind near the heart of the universe." Jacob Brown/Pete has been challenged with diabetes, weight control issues, prostate problems, etc.

Photographer Susan W. Showalter
is a fine art photographer, writer and jewelry designer in the forest where she works and lives on her Goat Hill Farm established in 1972. Her art work is sold internationally online, at gift shops, boutiques and at her Goat Hill Studio, Gallery and Museum ten minutes south east of Nashville. Susan conceived and produced this documentary, Artists Interrupted: Brown County Artists Challenged by Illness or Injury. Susan has been challenged with injuries and illness including Crohn's Disease, permanent spinal cord damage resulting from a broken neck sustained in auto accident, asthma, iritis, chronic anemia, ankylosing spondylitis, sleep apnea, etc

Singer/songwriter Christopher Webb
is the son of the Legendary singer/songwriter Pat Webb and renowned folksinger Charlette Webb. He started playing music professionally at the age of 13 during a national broadcast of the Pan American Games. Chris was greatly influenced by his mother and father. He formed the group Folksinger when he was 20 years old and later played, toured and recorded with The Beaten Poets. Christopher's career was interrupted when he was diagnosed with cancer, specifically a malignant carcinoma of the sinus cavity. The illness and treatment profoundly affected his writing and performing.

Legendary Singer/Songwriter Pat Webb
was born in Springfield, MO. His family played music, danced, told stories and read poetry. Pat played mandolin and traveled with a string band entertaining the troops while in the U.S. Marines. He took up guitar and played Kansas City type jazz and blues with many mature black musicians who influenced his developing musical style. He performed all over the US for over 50 years, developed “Melting Pot Music” and Experimental Acoustic Guitar. Pat has recorded numerous albums and CDs, performed on radio and television. He recorded on the Folkways Record and Webstone labels. Pat is challenged by complications from a ruptured appendix.

World Renowned Wildlife Artist William Zimmerman
is world renowned and has been called America’s premier bird artist. He has published numerous books. Bill’s works of art have been shown in many museums and galleries, including the Smithsonian and British Museums, and are featured on the labels of Oliver Winery wines. He has lived in Brown County since the early seventies and was active in many community organizations, including The Brown County Mentoring Program. Bill has been challenged by complications from surgery for a tumor in his spine.
